Bonza means business with new group bookings arm
Edited by Travel Weekly

Bonza has bolstered its business events and group bookings arm and to celebrate, the airline is giving 20 per cent off over 300,000 flights across November to March.

The launch of Bonza’s group bookings arm means event planners can work with the low-cost carrier’s dedicated Group Travel Champions on a bespoke planning and booking process where there are ten or more travellers.

“We’re thrilled to bolster and formalise our group booking capabilities at Bonza. We have already seen healthy demand for group bookings as more people are choosing to travel to regional locations for business events. There’s also a very healthy appetite to travel Bonza for sporting events and in fact, one of our first-ever bookings when we first went on sale in January was for 550 netball players travelling to Townsville for a tournament and we’re humbled to see them return again for next year’s event,” said Tim Jordan, CEO of Bonza.

Bonza’s Group Travel Champions are able to provide a quote to event planners with 10 or more travellers on the same flight. Each quote includes 23kgs of checked baggage, 8kgs hand luggage and ‘pick seats’. Planners are asked to pay a 25 per cent deposit within seven days and final names and payment due 30 days prior to departure. To add flexibility, Bonza can change names on the bookings at no extra charge up until two days before wheels up. Payments can be made via bank transfer or credit card to give organisations and groups additional options.

As we get closer to the silly season, Bonza is seeing more organisations choose to celebrate with their staff with a short break. Popular Christmas party destinations include Cairns, Sunshine Coast and the Gold Coast.

“We are hearing from a number of organisations who are choosing to celebrate the end of the year with a trip across our network for the same price as a traditional restaurant booking or catered event,” added Jordan.

From today until 23 October, event planners can get 20 per cent off flights by quoting the promo code TAKEOFF20 when they reach out to Bonza’s Group Travel Champions at groups@flybonza.com. Travel periods include 10 November – 13 December 2023, 16 January – 6 March 2024 and 13 March – 27 March 2024.
