Virgin Australia grows business appeal

Virgin Australia grows business appeal
By admin

A rising number of domestic business travellers are considering using Virgin Australia for their next trip, new research has revealed.

According to the Roy Morgan Air Travel Survey, 54% of business travellers would consider using the airline for their next domestic business trip in the twelve months to February 2012, up from 50% in the twelve months to October 2011.
Qantas still topped the table, with 72% of travellers considering it over the twelve-month period. But the figure represented a decline on the twelve months to August 2011, when it was an option for 75%.
“Business travellers have responded favourably to the January 2012 launch of the Virgin Australia business class,” Roy Morgan director of tourism Jane Ianniello said.
“Virgin Australia has also picked up some disgruntled Qantas business customers after the grounding of all Qantas planes for days in late October 2011.”
She highlighted the challenge for both airlines as understanding their customers better.
