Sydney Airport breaks July record
By admin

Sydney Airport saw record numbers of international and domestic travellers in July, latest figures have shown.

International traffic climbed 3.6% to 1.068 million with domestic numbers rising 2.6% to 2.109m.

Chief executive Kerrie Mather attributed international growth to the launch of Scoot and AirAsia X flights to Sydney and capacity increases from Emirates.

The recent growth of arrivals from Singapore and Malaysia continued with increases of 54% and 45% respectively. Arrivals from China climbed 12%.

Domestically, all four major airlines grew capacity, with Tiger generating the largest increase with a full month of services to Melbourne and the Gold Coast.
