The launch of a Valentine's Day in-flight dating service will see Jetstar and dating service RSVP combine efforts to help lovelorn singletons find romance in the skies.

Jetstar's "LoveJet" will fly from Sydney to the Gold Coast on February 14 with 28 singles selected from the RSVP website on board. The participants will have lunch at the 78th floor of the Goldie's SkyPoint Observation Deck before flying back home.

The flight aims to "bring the romance back" into Valentine's Day, following an RSVP poll which found 80% of singles think Valentine's Day is a romantic occasion, but only 17% of singles enjoy it.

"Valentine's Day can be a tricky day for singles," RSVP general manager Glenis Carroll said. "Singles should view Valentine's Day as an opportunity – it's a chance to be brave and make a move, reveal a crush or approach someone new."
