One&Only opportunity to enhance Emirates Wolgan Valley

One&Only opportunity to enhance Emirates Wolgan Valley
By admin

Despite news of One&Only taking over the luxurious Emirates Wolgan Valley Resort breaking earlier in the day, the deal was formally sealed at a swanky event in Sydney last night.

Under the arrangement, Emirates Wolgan Valley will be rebranded under One & Only Resort having been bought by South African billionaire hotelier, Sol Kerzner.

The Emirates-owned six-star resort in NSW will be the second for the resort brand after it re-opened Hayman Island earlier this year following an extensive $80 million refurbishment.

Kerzner re-stated his intentions to find and rebrand more luxury properties to One & Only branded resorts in Australia.

“Australia is a very important market for us both inbound and outbound,” ceo, Kerzner International, Alan Leibman said.

“It takes a while to find a real gem. The Australian government welcomed us with open arms”

“We couldn’t be prouder to be handed something like this [Wolgan Valley] … turning over your baby, we’re good at looking after babies and will take it into maturity,” Leibman said.

Leibman told Travel Today plans for the resort are to “enhance it”, focussing on the current tour schedule the resort offers guests and to “continue that experience”.

One&Only Resorts president and chief operating officer, Mark de Cocinis said the move was a “great opportunity to grow” and that he was in talks with government officials to “bring in more international visitors and domestic” travellers to the resort.

“We are totally committed to grow One&Only in Australia,” he said.
