G Adventures has launched its Uber Massive Incentive (UMI) for the second year running, with the prize pool now expanded to be worth more than $100,000.

The three top selling agents in Australia and New Zealand will be in the running to win prizes based on passenger numbers booked onto G Adventures itineraries until June 30. An additional nine winners will be randomly drawn.

The operator is offering 15% on all tours booked in January to kick start the promotion.

 

 

Malaysia Airlines will double agent commission to 12% for all tickets originating in Australia issued from January 7 to February 28.

Any ticket issued for travel originating outside Australia is commissionable at 6%, while domestic Malaysian fares and those from Kuala Lumpur to Singapore or Brunei will not attract any commission.

The airline promised its Australian marketing efforts would be further boosted this year by its joining of the Oneworld Alliance on February 1.

 

 

Virgin Money has launched the first major marketing initiative for its travel insurance product, launched at the end of 2012, after increasing its marketing spend by 20% year-on-year.

The new campaign went live on free-to-air TV last night. It features an animated character Fortunate Frank, the luckiest traveller in the world, who survives a series of scenarios to show what can go wrong when you travel.
