ITG opens first italktravel stores

Three former Harvey World Travel stores have become the first to adopt Independent Travel Group’s italktravel brand.

The outlets in Maitland, Newcastle West and Rutherford are owned by Mark van Huisstede who unveiled the new-look stores on Friday.

ITG said four more shops will take the italktravel brand by the end of May, rising to 16 by August.

Chief executive Tom Manwaring said he expects to have a 100-strong network by the end of 2015.

“The full branding package adheres to the ITG philosophy of giving agents greater control over their business and it comes with a bonus profit share scheme,” he said.
