Air Pacific has confirmed the deployment of its new Fiji Airways branded A330 aircraft, with their arrival to deliver increased frequencies to Sydney, Melbourne, Hong Kong and Los Angeles in 2013.

Brisbane will become the first Australian city to see the new aircraft on April 21, with the A330 to fly there five times weekly until July. Sydney A330 flights will commence on June 8, with weekly flights by A330 and B737 aircraft on the route to rise from 13 to 14 in September and up to 17 in peak season. The first Melbourne A330 services will take place in December with combined A330 and B737 frequencies to increase from five to six in the December peak period.

The new aircraft will be used on a five times weekly service from Nadi to Auckland from April to July.

Hong Kong services using the new aircraft will begin on ASpril 4, while LA will see its first Fiji Airways-branded A330 on July 1.

"The entire Air Pacific team is thrilled about the opportunity to start showing out regular customers and new visitors to Fiji our new state-of-the-art S330s in just 41 days," chief executive Dave Pflieger said.

"While our goal has always been to offer our customers the best flying experience in the Pacific, our new planes are going to make a hige difference in our ability to deliver on that promise, and we will be revealing even better service and other surprises when we become ‘Fiji Airways' later this year."
