AFTA confirms final round of ATAS workshops
By admin

The next series of national workshops to introduce the travel industry to the Australian Federation of Travel Agent’s travel accreditation scheme (ATAS) will take place in May as the July 1 launch date approaches.

The “ATAS – Becoming Travel Accredited” workshops are timed to support the opening of the ATAS application process and the April launch of the new AFTA website.

They will outline how travel intermediaries can apply to become accredited under the scheme and ATAS marketing initiatives while providing an overview of the consumer awareness campaign that will coincide with its launch.

This latest series of events will complete the workshop series that has been underway since August last year, according to general manager accreditation Gary O’Riordan.

He urged agents to save the dates or pre-register their interested by emailing atas@afta.com.au.

The initial schedule is as follows: Brisbane, May 15 11am-1pm; Perth, May 20 9am-11am; Adelaide, May 21 10am–12pm; Melbourne, May 28 10am-12pm; Sydney May 29 10am-12pm.

More details will be revealed next week.
