By admin

The European Air Safety Agency (EASA) has extended checks to all 68 A380s in service following the discovery of cracks on wings.

Qantas has grounded one if its aircraft after discovering 36 cracks.
Inspections initially focused on 20 aircraft operated by Singapore Airlines, Air France and Emirates but will now be extended to Qantas, China Southern, Korean Air and Lufthansa.
The EASA said the cracks could pose a safety risk if left unremedied.
It confirmed that Airbus had established a “repair scheme” for any cracks found with a “long-term fix” to be defined by summer 2012.
