CLIA LIVE kicks off in Brisbane, gearing agents for cruise success
Edited by Travel Weekly

Cruise Lines International Association (CLIA) hosted its first CLIA LIVE event for the year in Brisbane this week, kicking off a booked-out season of training across Australia and New Zealand.

From now until mid-May, about 400 members of Cruise Lines International Association will learn about the latest and most innovative new developments in cruising, presented at two-day events in six major cities.

Brisbane’s event this week involved about 60 Queensland travel agents over the two days.

CLIA LIVE has become one of CLIA’s most popular annual training initiatives, providing an opportunity to hear from multiple cruise lines at a single forum.

Aimed at both new-to-cruise agents and seasoned cruise specialists, the events allow travel agents to update their product knowledge and find new opportunities to boost their cruise business.

“It’s a great opportunity to get together with other CLIA travel agents and learn about the latest initiatives in cruising, direct from the cruise lines,” director of membership and events, CLIA, Marita Nosic, said.

“Cruise lines have an incredible amount of new developments to showcase, so CLIA LIVE has become a very popular way for agents to hear the latest and find new opportunities to sell cruise.”

Other CLIA LIVE events are scheduled in Adelaide (10-11 April), Perth (16-17 April), Auckland (30 April – 1 May), Melbourne (7-8 May), and Sydney (14-15 May).
