Travel Weekly TV: Kathryn O’Brien, general manager – Australia, Air New Zealand
Edited by Travel Weekly

As we edge closer to the Women in Travel Awards on 5 December, we welcome another incredible industry figure, Kathryn O’Brien, the Australian general manager of Air New Zealand, who joins Hoda on the couch this week.

Prior to starting at Air New Zealand, O’Brien was CCO at Experience Co. – a NZ-based adventure tourism company – and before that, general manager of sales at Hamilton Island, helping build a versatile skillset within the industry.

In this episode, Kathryn talks about Air NZ’s goals to increase the number of women within its workforce, explaining that “right now we have about 40 per cent of our senior leaders being female, but we’re really working hard to get that to 50 per cent.”

Another standout from the chat is the impressive maternity leave structure that Air New Zealand offers its female staff!
