From state to national, Julia McLean continues to grow at TravelManagers

TravelManagers veteran mentor Julia McLean is set to broaden her horizons as she prepares to start a new role as national business partnership manager with the company.

Having spent the past six years working providing support to personal travel managers (PTMs) holding the same role but at a state level, McLean will now move to the national position and work with eight state based business partnership managers (BPMs) who, together with the Sydney-based national partnership office team, ensure that its nationwide network of PTMs (and their clients) receive the best possible assistance and opportunities.

McLean said she is looking forward to leaving the shadows of COVID behind and anticipates a need within her new role to assist agents in finding a home at TravelManagers.

“With more consumers now seeking an experienced travel advisor, our focus is on providing a supportive and positive space for the many talented agents who are looking to return to the industry,” McLean said.

“Alongside the robust financial protections we have in place in the form of our ‘Peace of Mind’ promise, one of TravelManagers’ biggest drawcards is that our systems, procedures and support have been developed specifically for home-based consulting.”

TravelManagers’ executive general manager, Michael Gazal, agreed that McLean and her team of state-based BPMs are uniquely placed to meet the fast-growing interest in home-based consulting.

“Julia has a thorough grounding in all aspects of travel consulting, and her first-hand experience means that she fully understands what it takes to run a successful home-based business,” Gazal said. “She delivered a stellar performance as a BPM, and will approach her new role with a wealth of skills and abilities that are complemented by the strong relationships she has built with PTMs, suppliers and the NPO team.”

TravelManagers is coming off the back of a record December where the average growth per PTM saw an 85.7 per cent increase compared to pre-pandemic sales in December 2019.

McLean, who is looking forward to building on the success of recent times also noted the collaborative culture as one of the greatest strengths and noted, “I am really looking forward to working with our team to continue supporting our PTMs.”
