Overseas visitors surge into Ireland

Tourism Ireland has just announced an increase of +14% in overseas visitors to the Republic of Ireland.

From February to April 2015, Ireland welcomed 212, 000 more visitors than it did over the same three-month period in 2014.

The boost in overseas visitor numbers will bode well for employment and economic recovery around the country.

“Today’s figures represent a stunning start to the year. It’s been another record three months for visitor numbers from Australia and New Zealand (+30%) and furthermore, our latest stats show our average length of stay has increased to 13 nights,” manager Australia & New Zealand of Tourism Ireland, Diane Butler said.
