British Airways hosts gig on A380 wing
By admin

A British Airways Airbus A380 became the setting of an exclusive music, fashion, design and cuisine event to celebrate the aircraft’s introduction to the airline’s Hong Kong to London route.

The “Gig on a Wing” event featured the “best of British”, according to BA. Those involved included designer Alice Temperley, singer Leona Lewis, food by The Langham with special appearances by rock royalty Georgia May Jagger and BA chief executive Keith Williams.

“Performing on the wing of the British Airways A380 was an incredible experience and one I will never forget,” Lewis said. “After singing on top of a double-decker bus at the 2008 Beijing Olympics, I thought that would be a hard act to follow, but tonight’s ‘Gig on a Wing’ event was very special and unique”.

British Airways operates two daily non-stop flights between Hong Kong and London Heathrow. The A380 will serve flight BA25 from London to Hong Kong, and BA26 from Hong Kong to London.
