World Expeditions returns to Nepal

Australian Nepal trekking specialist, World Expeditions, will recommence operations in Manaslu and Langtang from March 2016.

The announcement comes after local staff reported they were satisfied with operational safety in the regions after reviewing trail conditions, bridges, infrastructure an the general state of community villages.

It’s been eight months since the Nepal earthquake, which measured 7.3 on the Richter scale, ravaged the country in April this year, killing 9,000 people and injuring more than 23,000.

World Expeditions ceo Sue Badyari said the company’s first priority is client safety.

“The overall nature of these treks has not changed substantially following the earthquakes, although evidence of the earthquakes is still evident,” she said.

“Some trails have been damaged and are under varying stages of repair, alternative and rough trails must be used in places, landslides and improvised bridges need to be crossed, yet we have considered all logistics and are 100% confident we can mitigate any risks for our travellers.”
