Explore reveals new yurts in Iceland

Explore's Iceland yurt [1]

Explore has unveiled its new accommodation concept in Iceland – a private collection of bespoke yurts set in the heart of the Golden Circle. The new accommodation, Náttúra Yurtel, will feature in a new three-night, four-day trip beginning April 2020.

Highlights of the new Iceland Yurt Adventure itinerary include visiting the country’s breathtaking big three waterfalls – Skogafoss, Seljalandsfoss and Gullfoss – and the black basalt cliffs at Vik I Mydral.

Guests will also spend time in Reykjavik with its mix traditional corrugated iron homes and modern architecture.

As well as watching the iconic Strokkur Geyser erupt and the chance to walk between two continents in Thingvellir National Park, there is an option for guests to relax in a natural geo-thermal pool, known locally as the Secret Lagoon.

Commissioned by Explore and built in Mongolia by a family with a long history in yurt building, the yurts have been furnished and fitted in contemporary Icelandic design.

Guests can sleep under the stars in complete comfort, as the yurts come with ensuite facilities, underfloor heating and communal yurts for relaxing in.

A three-night stay costs from $1,630 per person departing on 27 April 2020. The price includes breakfast and two dinners, and the trip is limited to a maximum of 14 people.

Adventure World Travel Africa 2020 brochure cover

Adventure World Travel has launched its 2020 Africa and Middle East collection, featuring three new itineraries in Rwanda and Botswana.

For the first time ever, travellers will be able to experience Botswana’s Secret Migration in a new three-night itinerary at the newly built Migration Expedition camps in Nxai Pan National Park.

The Secret Migration is Botswana’s little-known natural phenomenon where Zebras travel in the thousands from Caprivi Strip in Namibia down to the salt pans in Nxai Pan National Park during the wet season from January to April. At 1,000 kilometres, it is said to be the longest migration in Africa.

Also new for 2020 in Botswana, travellers can put their photographer’s hat on with the brand’s new night-night extended photographic safari, Botswana in Focus.

The itinerary explores Chobe National Park and the Okavango Delta in depth, providing travellers with ample viewing opportunities with the assistance of a safari expedition leader, an expert naturalist and photographer.

Over in Rwanda, Adventure World Travel will take guests across three national parks on its new nine-night Roaming Rwanda itinerary.

Travellers will explore Akagera National Park on a game drive, undertake chimp treks in Nyungwe Forest National Park, visit the beautiful Lake Kivu and head on a gorilla trek in Volcanoes National Park.

Aligning with the brand’s sustainable message, the new brochures are printed on 100 per cent recyclable paper.

Globus highlights value of European offseason

Travellers who head to Europe during the off-season with Globus will save more than 40 per cent on average on their getaway, according to the company.

Milder temperatures, fewer crowds and better deals – that’s the idea behind Escapes by Globus, a compilation of itineraries in Europe presented during the low season (November through to March) so travellers can experience the world’s most popular destinations for less.

Globus’ access to the world’s must-see sites like Barcelona’s Sagrada Familia, London’s St. Paul’s Cathedral and Rome’s Colosseum is available to travellers on these off-season holidays as well.

Local favourites are also provided on each and every Escapes by Globus holiday. In Modena, for example, Globus travellers can enjoy a tasting of the city’s famous balsamic vinegar. In Greece, local favourites include learning the sirtaki dance and making tzatziki – a symbol of Greek cuisine.

For solo travellers, Escapes by Globus also waives the single supplement, subject to availability.
