As part of its new ‘Undiscovered Mediterranean’ series of tours, the Globus family of brands is inviting travellers to off-the-beaten-path destinations along the Mediterranean, including seaside stays in some of the world’s most picturesque places.
Here are six secluded seaside towns throughout Italy, Greece, Montenegro and Slovenia your clients can discover – and overnight in – on tour with Globus and Cosmos:
1. Itea, Greece (‘14-Day Southern Italy & Greece’): Just as sweet as the wildflower, thyme and fir honey, this quiet coastal town is known for is waking up to both mountain and ocean views. Globus invites travellers to spend two nights in this charming village.
2. Paros, Greece (‘8-Day Greek Island Adventure’): This slower-paced island of whitewashed villages – often referred to as a “mini Mykonos” – is also famous for the white marble once mined here as well as the “Church of 100 Doors,” one of the world’s most significant Byzantine ruins.
3. Budva, Montenegro (‘11-Day Discover the Eastern Med’): Originally settled by Venetians, this architectural and atmospheric port sets the stage for lavish leisure. Here, travellers are invited to enjoy an evening on their own to sip the regions honey brandy or indulge in the catch of the day.
4. Bari, Italy (‘11-Day Discover the Eastern Med’): What better way to end an overnight ferry ride across the Adriatic Sea than to wake up in this historic port city? Travellers can take advantage of their time here by weaving their way through the maze of beautiful side-streets toward the Basilica of St. Nicholas.
5. La Spezia, Italy (‘14-Day Mediterranean Flavours’): Just minutes from Cinque Terre, this picturesque port town invites travellers down the winding streets of the old town to enjoy some of the best cuisine in Italy.
6. Portorož, Slovenia (‘11-Day Venice, Slovenia, Croatia & Montenegro’): Famous for its thermal spas, Portorož is the place to immerse in healing waters and indulge in treatments utilising ingredients from the nearby salt pans.
Those who book early can save up to $2,000 per couple on Globus’ European holidays, but they’ll have to be quick, as the deal ends 31 October. For more information, agents can visit the Globus website.
