Top brands touchdown at SYD X

Gdansk - airplanes in front of the passenger terminal of international airport

Sydney Airport has officially unveiled SYD X, a new luxury precinct located at the T1 International Terminal. After customs and before the departure gates, SYD X is home to 20 of the world’s most desirable brands all under one roof.

Tiffany & Co., is the latest luxury boutique to re-open as part of SYD X, offering a newly-designed store experience. The world of Tiffany is expressed with refinement in the warm and feminine setting where a brilliant Lobmeyer chandelier suspends overhead with custom Tiffany Blue crystals. Passengers can shop the House’s signature designs from coveted jewellery collections including Tiffany Lock and more.

Heinemann Tax & Duty Free has also unveiled new luxury beauty, fashion and accessories stores and expanded its range of fragrances, makeup, watches and jewellery.

For the first time at Sydney Airport, Heinemann has introduced fashion and accessories with brands including Chloe, Kenzo and Lanvin available in an Australian airport retail exclusive.

The new Tiffany & Co. and Heinemann Tax & Duty Free stores sit alongside Balenciaga, Bottega Veneta, Burberry, Bvlgari, Celine, Dior, Gucci, Hermès, Loewe, Moncler, Prada, Rolex, Saint Laurent and Valentino, which opened in the second half of 2022. SYD X is set to become Australia’s largest collection of luxury brands, with Cartier and Versace on track to open by mid-2023.

Housed in a double-sided streetscape, the elliptical design of SYD X makes it quick and easy for travellers to navigate. The precinct also operates in a GST exempt space, so international travellers can enjoy tax free luxury items at the point of purchase.

To celebrate the official launch of SYD X, Sydney Airport has partnered with Australian entrepreneur and style connoisseur, Gab Waller. ‘The world’s most famous personal shopper’ according to Forbes, Gab boasts an A-list roster from the Kardashians to Hailey Bieber.

Personal shopper and SYD X ambassador Gab Waller said: “As someone who works in luxury fashion and travels a lot for work the arrival of SYD X is a game changer. I can do all my shopping before I fly, avoid the queues in the city malls, snap up travel exclusives only available at Sydney Airport and purchase everything tax free! The best thing is there’s something for everyone, from a bottle of beautiful perfume to enjoy on your holiday to the Hermes handbag you’ve had your eye on for years. SYD X is an experience worth arriving early for.”

Sydney Airport’s Executive General Manager of Commercial Mark Zaouk said: “In 2019, we set out to change the face of luxury at Sydney Airport and I’m delighted to see our vision come together. Meticulous work has gone into creating a unique luxury shopping destination, from the layout and design of the new precinct to the superior experiences available in each of the luxury stores. And there is more to come!

“International travellers can look forward to curated brand, culinary and luxury experiences, as we continue to innovate and position Sydney Airport as a key player on the world stage of luxury.”

“We are delighted to collaborate with Sydney Airport to deliver the ultimate airport shopping experience for passengers. With our new stores, complementing our existing world-class wines and spirits, confectionery and local products assortment, Heinemann at Sydney Airport is a shopping destination not to be missed,” commented Heinemann Australia Managing Director George Tsoukalas.

Once complete in mid-2023, SYD X will showcase over 2,700sqm of luxury shopping. For more information visit: www.sydneyairport.com.au/SYDX.
