    Taylor Swift has officially landed in Melbourne for the first Australian leg of her Eras Tour.

    The human headline made her trip into Australia from Honolulu via her private jet, but it was the staggering amount of people tracking Swift’s aircraft that has left people astounded.

    A total of 25,000 Swifties, plane enthusiasts and generally curious people watched the plane on Flightradar24 during her trip from Hawaii and a total of 6,000 were tracking the jet as it landed at Tullamarine airport just before 1am this morning.

    But the eager fans, of whom some actually went to the airport to watch her grand arrival, have drawn criticism from some that have claimed this behaviour is unusual.

    “There’s an awful lot of sad people out there with far too much time on their hands,” one Twitter user wrote.

    “It’s creepy. Just leave her alone,” another wrote on Facebook.

    “People who care about her should care about her privacy and respect her enough to not overstep that boundary. Going and finding her at the airport, especially in a private sector where you genuinely cannot see her is just weird.”

    But others have come to the die-hard fans’ defence, arguing

    “It’s really sad to see people shaming others for being excited?! Some of these are kids who didn’t get tickets and just wanting something to remember. What’s any different to someone outside the MCG each night?!” one said.

    “They parked in a public viewing spot to see her plane land, people do that every day!

    “Just let them be excited.”

    Swift herself has drawn criticism due to the large amount of CO2 her jet emits into the atmosphere. She recently threatened legal action against a Twitter user that was tracking her flights and reported on the amount of carbon dioxide created from her flights.
