The best bits of travel with The Travel Corporation’s Andrew Young: Travel Weekly TV
Edited by Travel Weekly

This week, Andrew Young, The Travel Corporations’ general manager of sales in Oceania dropped into the studio to chat all things TTC.

Andrew’s primary role with TTC is to take care of the Oceania travel agent partners and says a lot of the agent community might not be aware of how much influence the founding family of TTC still have in the business.

One of Andrew’s key points was his love for taking avery Aussie and Kiwi travellers, “out of where they live, they’re everyday and taking them to locations and communities somewhere around the world that is completely foreign to them.

Often this is to regions that don’t see the tourism dollar, helping TTC give back directly to the community!

Andrew also introduced a new initiative which has garnered media attention as of late.

    “We’ve had a no-stuff policy,” Young said.

    “We’ve basically stopped creating merchandise.

“Everyone is out there printing their brands, putting them on pens and on drink bottles … really, no one really looks at what brand is on their merchandise any more.

“TTC is no longer producing any of that branded merch.

Instead what we’re doing is donating that money to some of our projects that we’re supporting, such as rainforest rescue up in the Daintree and Greenwave project over in the states
