    Sofitel Melbourne On Collins has announced the appointment of Rachael Harman to the position of general manager, following the retirement of renowned industry veteran, Clive Scott AM.

    As an accomplished hospitality and tourism professional, Harman brings over 20 years of experience to her new role having spent time working in senior management roles for various luxury hotel brands across Australia, New Zealand, Malaysia and Singapore.

    In her most recent role as general manager, Sofitel Adelaide, she oversaw the hugely successful launch of South Australia’s newest luxury international property which has quickly become one of Australia’s leading hotels.

    With a passion for hospitality, Harman is committed to excellence while providing exceptional service and experience for her guests.

    Although born and raised in Adelaide, she is no stranger to Melbourne having previously spent eight years in the city and is excited to be moving into her next chapter at Sofitel Melbourne On Collins.

    “I am thrilled to continue my Sofitel journey by joining the Sofitel Melbourne On Collins team as general manager,” Harman, said.

    “Having recently undergone an extensive $ 15 million refurbishment, they have set the benchmark for luxury hotels in Melbourne and it’s an honour to carry on the incredible work undertaken by Mr Scott over the past 18 years.”

    In addition, Accor has announced the appointment of Clive Scott AM to the new consultant role of Sofitel Arts Ambassador Australia.

    Having built an incredible world-class arts program during his time as general manager at Sofitel Melbourne On Collins, which is known as Melbourne’s ‘Hotel for the Arts’, his new role will focus on developing similar programs across all Sofitel properties in Australia.
