Qantas boss Alan Joyce the most mentioned CEO in Aussie media (with Jayne and Skroo not far behind)

Media intelligence company Isentia has conducted a ranking of the top 75 most mentioned CEOs across broadcast, print and online media in Australia so far this year.

Qantas’ Alan Joyce had the most visibility of any CEO, with nearly 20 per cent of total mentions.

Unsurprisingly, three of the top 10 most visible CEOs were in the travel sector, with Virgin Australia’s Jayne Hrdlicka having 6.25 per cent of mentions and Graham “Skroo” Turner from Flight Centre with 3.08 per cent of mentions.

AFL chief Gillon McLachlan ranked second with 8.87 per cent of mentions, followed closely by NRL’s Andrew Abdo with 8.67 per cent.

Banking sector CEOs have also dominated media coverage in 2021, with Commonwealth’s Matt Comyn, NAB’s Ross McEwan and Westpac’s Peter King all in the top 10 in terms of visibility.
