Ovolo announce new CEO and new ‘Friends With Benefits’ offer

Boutique hotel collection Ovolo announced the promotion of Dave Baswal to CEO and launched the latest iteration of its Friends With Benefits offer with ClassPass.

Baswal’s promotion will allow founder and executive chairman Girish Jhunjhnuwala to focus on branding, development, and strategic growth of the business.

The appointment comes as Ovolo prepares for the next phase of its evolution, with plans to expand into new markets as the hospitality industry recovers from the impacts of the pandemic.

“Dave Baswal personifies the very best of Ovolo – someone with the passion to constantly improve the guest experience; the creativity to innovate new services; and the business acumen to deliver strong performance,” said Girish.

“Most importantly, he shares the same people-centric ethos that is at the very heart of Ovolo, delivering happiness to our guests, our teams, and our stakeholders.”

Baswal said he is proud to take the mantle of CEO from Girish and is honoured to have earned the trust of Ovolo’s visionary founder.

“Girish has been such an inspiration to me, and all our team members and he remains the heart and soul of Ovolo. He has created a brand that deeply resonates with today’s travellers and that inspires our team to deliver exceptional service every day,” Baswal said.

“I am honoured to lead this amazing group and to take Ovolo into its next phase at a time of enormous opportunity.”

The hotel collections’ new Friends With Benefits offer gives guests 20 per cent off their booking plus a free ClassPass membership.

The new package offers an additional complimentary two-week membership to new members with 20 credits and 50 per cent off all classes during the trial period.

“At Ovolo we like to eat, sleep and sweat in good company, and our new Friends With Benefits package offers loyal guests an opportunity to get a sweet deal at our hotel this year,” director of marketing at Ovolo Group, Stephen Howard.

“We also believe guests deserve to feel a sense of balance during and after their stay at Ovolo, and our partnership with the revolutionary ClassPass allows us to further meet that mantra.”

The new offer is available on all bookings for stays until the end of 2022, across all Ovolo and By Ovolo Collective Hotels in Australia and Bali, Indonesia.
