Oceania Cruises throws welcome party for Regatta in Sydney

Oceania Cruises celebrated its return to Sydney’s Circular Quay with the recently ‘re-inspired’ Regatta set to spend the summer season in local waters.

Oceania Cruises’ Regatta was recently revamped as part of its ambitious OceaniaNEXT initiative. All-new suites and staterooms are complemented by restyled public spaces replete with residential furnishings and an international art collection.

The 656-guest Regatta arrived at Sydney’s Overseas Passenger Terminal at Circular Quay on 12 December, ahead of a busy summer season with seven destination-intensive itineraries.

“This is the first time we’ve had an Oceania Cruises ship in Sydney since 2019, so we are delighted to welcome Regatta back to the region. She will be in Australia, New Zealand, Asia and South Pacific waters for the entire summer season, with plenty of opportunities for immersive exploration,” said Jason Worth, VP Australia and New Zealand, Oceania Cruises.

“Seeing Regatta sailing back through the Heads and into Sydney’s spectacular Harbour will be cause for celebration for many Australians who enjoy her luxury small ship ambience.”

Oceania Cruises held a going away party on Monday evening for the ship at the Museum of Contemporary Art.

Cruisers and attendees were invited to visit the new Do Ho Suh exhibition before the event, which Oceania Cruises has sponsored.

The Regatta sailed off at around 8:45pm on Monday evening, heading towards Newcastle for the next stop of ‘The Aussie Adventure’ trip around the coast of Australia.

The Regatta will return to Sydney on 16 January.
