Nap pods are coming to airports!

Attention, napping champs! Airports are about to be your new favourite place.

Because sleep pods are coming! And they’re stylish as heck, if you ask us.

Designed by Airpod, the napping pods look like one of the sleekest place possible to rest your head in those lengthy stopovers.

Say goodbye to becoming a temporary contortionist to sleep in between the airport chair rests – these pods are a completely private world for you to relax, and most importantly, nap in.

But it’s not just for nappers – according to Lonely Planet, the AirPod can be used for charging devices, sorting luggage, connecting to Wi-Fi or watching Netflix. And if you just want time away from the duty-free shops or whoever you’re travelling with? AirPod is there for you then too.

The AirPod even covers bad hygiene.

“The AirPod capsules will have integrated scent machines to eliminate unpleasant odours,” they told Lonely Planet.

“[There will be a] self-disinfection LED system and will be manually checked by staff.

“LED produces a high-quality white light that also provides continuous disinfection through precisely engineered wavelengths of visible light. Laboratory and controlled room experiments show up to a 90 per cent bacteria reduction in a treated environment for one day.”

You can even set an alarm for when it’s time to head to your gate! You know, so you don’t inevitably fall asleep in one of these miniature paradises and miss your flight.

Unfortunately, no, you can’t find them anywhere near you (yet) as the AirPods are still in their testing phase. The commercial trial will last a month in European airports, where 10-15 AirPod prototypes will be tested. And no, we don’t have the locations (but yes, we are considering going European airport hopping in the hopes of finding one).

The creators of the AirPod said they’re easy to move around the airport, and fit one person at this stage.

Think we could move one from Europe to Sydney?
