Midweek Interview with Davina Bicker

Midweek Interview with Davina Bicker

We chat to the Industry Sales Manager of Adventure World.

The challenge for the industry is…

Never enough time to travel ourselves!

The things I like about my job…

To work for a brand which has products and destinations I truly love and am passionate about!

And the frustrations are …

Too many emails

If I didn’t work in travel I would be…

Running a kennels for small dogs – people will pay a fortune to have their pets looked after (at the risk of sounding like crazy dog lady)

Virgin or Qantas?

Virgin – love the culture of the company

My proudest moment was…

Surviving a high altitude hike in Bolivia after suffering from terrible altitude sickness. I lived to tell the tale and would do it all again!

The naughtiest thing I ever did was…

Where do I start……..

I try to relax by…

Sitting anywhere near the sea, something very calming about it or walking a dog.

The last time I feared for my life was…

Cycling down the Death Road in Bolivia….. and I would do it again in a heartbeat.

If I can, I always try to avoid…

The middle seat on the plane – it’s never a winner.

I really wish I had…

My dog here with me in Australia.

The best advice I’ve ever received was…

Do what you want – not what society says you should do.

I don’t understand why people…

Don’t stop to enjoy a moment and spend too much time taking photos.

My greatest weakness is…

I am incredibly stubborn which can also be a strength

And my greatest strength is…

Fighting for what I truly believe in…… even if it does get me in trouble at times!

If I was prime minister I would…

Ensure everyone was treated equally

If I won $1 million on the lottery I would…

Still be doing this job working in this addictive industry….. but would just live a bit more comfortably.

I’ve always wanted to travel to…

Patagonia – I have an obsession with South America!

My favourite holiday was…

Bolivia – crossing the Uyuni Salt flats and the Altiplano is three days of my life I will never forget. Truly the most incredible scenery I have ever seen and to sit in hot pools on the border of Chile & Bolivia watching the sunrise is pure magic.
