South African Airways (SAA) has promoted Michael Hall to the position of country manager, Australia & New Zealand.

Hall has spent the last 36 years with The Walshe Group having worked and had worked with SAA over many years of his tenure. Since 2016, Michael was SAA’s national sales manager, Australia.

As country manager, his appointment comes at a crucial time for SAA with the return of SAA’s flights between Johannesburg and Perth, the first flight arriving into Australia on 29 April 2024. SAA’s recently announced operations to Perth are in line with the airline’s strategy to expand the network sustainably offering a wider choice of destinations, and greater connectivity for their customers.

2024 marks South African Airways’ 90th birthday, making it the oldest airline on the African continent.
