LATAM brings back daily services to South America

LATAM Airlines has increased services from Sydney via Auckland to Santiago, Chile to a daily frequency as of 6 December 2022.

LATAM is the only airline operating daily flights between Australia/New Zealand and South America. LATAM Airlines celebrated returning to a daily frequency between Sydney and Santiago, yesterday at Sydney Airport. Passengers were greeted with a LATAM Airlines branded cupcake and offered the opportunity to have their photo taken before taking off.

LATAM recommenced flights from Sydney in March this year with three weekly services after a two-year hiatus due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Since restarting flights, LATAM has experienced significant demand and the airline has been working closely with Sydney Airport to increase the number of services throughout the year.

Chris Ellis, country manager Oceania for LATAM Airlines said “We are excited to finally be operating daily services to Santiago, the gateway to LATAM’s network of more than 120 destinations in Latin America and 144 destinations around the world. Through working closely with the trade and key strategic partners, we have been able to achieve this milestone.”

“We know that there is huge interest in travelling to South America and we are happy to open the opportunity for more and more travellers to experience the wonders this part of the world has to offer.

“From adventure to luxury travel, cruising to trains, Latin America with all of its culture, food, wine and beautiful scenery has something for everyone.”

LATAM flights from Sydney are operated on a Boeing 787-9 aircraft and fly via Auckland to Santiago, Chile.
