Khiri Travel releases Hanoi holiday advice for Trump & Kim

Haircuts in the Hanoi Old Quarter, water puppets, a bahn mi party and a session of tai chi. A day of tourism and bliss for the pair as planned by Khiri Travel.

With news that North Korea’s leader Kim Jong-un is on his way to Hanoi ahead of his historic second meeting with President Donald Trump for nuclear talks, Khiri Travel has taken the time to put together a list of sites around the city for the pair to explore.

“After the diplomatic ink dries, the two rocket men should let their hair down – then rearrange it – at any of the friendly outdoor barber shops in the Hanoi Old Quarter around Ngo Gach and Hang Bac streets. A comb over or a buzz cut with flat top will cost around 30,000 dong (AUD$1.80) per person,” Khiri Travel said.

The hair has been the talk of the town in recent days, with barbers around Hanoi offering complimentary Trump and Kim haircuts in the style of the two leaders.

The Sydney Morning Herald reported on Saturday that a Kim impersonator had appeared at the Metropole Hotel – a back-up location for the meeting.

Howard X – an Australian impersonator – has been cashing in on his resemblance to Kim.

“Kim, please get a proper haircut. It looks awful,” Howard X said, adding that it takes him three hours to prepare his outfit and get into character. Howard X also impersonated Kim during the 2018 Winter Olympics in South Korea.

After giving yourself an unfashionably clean fade, Khiri Travel also recommended Trump and Kim visit a Water Puppet Theatre show.

“The thousand-year old art form is a masterful way for the two leaders to reflect on the role of acting, face, proxies and hidden players pulling strings behind the scenes,” they said.

The meeting is planned to go from 27 to 28 February.
