Is this the riskiest location for adventure travel?

As adventure travel becomes increasingly popular, does that mean travellers are putting their selves in more danger?

Personally, we’re scared of heights, large bodies of water, small bodies of water, any animal larger than a cat, dirty tissues, cramped spaces and paper cuts.

So that rules us out most adventure travel activities.

But for those of you who crave adventure, there are experiential travel destinations that provide more safety than others.

The safety-conscious folk over at Rubens Kress & Mulholland have created a set of handy infographics to rank the world’s top adventure travel destinations based on how risky they are.

The rating takes into account several factors, including likeliness of risky activity, safety standards, availability of medical services and court system, should you need to sue for personal injury.

And we don’t mean to brag, but of the 15 countries they rated, Australia was the safest.
