ICC Sydney appoints new director of building services

International Convention Centre Sydney (ICC Sydney), managed by ASM Global, has announced the appointment of Adam Smith as the venue’s new Director of Building Services.

An astute hospitality and events industry manager, Adam Smith joins ICC Sydney’s leadership team with more than 20 years’ experience in delivering successful business strategies, ensuring premium customer experiences, driving innovation through constant improvements and leading high performance teams.

CEO of ICC Sydney and Group Director – Convention Centres, ASM Global (APAC), Geoff Donaghy said Adam’s outstanding track record of ensuring the success of major events and leading large, multi-disciplinary teams will be invaluable in his new role.

“Adam brings a depth of industry knowledge, ability and strong leadership credentials to the role of Director of Building Services, and we look forward to working alongside him to drive the continued enhancement of key venue services that include security and venue presentation,” Mr Donaghy said.

Commenting on his appointment, Adam Smith said it was a great privilege to join the team at ICC Sydney and looked forward to applying his commitment, passion and enthusiasm for the industry in this new role.

“I am delighted to have the opportunity to contribute to ICC Sydney’s world class services and reputation on the global stage. I’m particularly looking forward to combining my passion for visitor safety, security and premium services for clients and attendees at ICC Sydney,” Mr Smith said.

Adam commenced in the role as ICC Sydney’s Director of Building Services on 27 March, following a long tenure at the Australian Turf Club as General Manager where he oversaw security, transport, traffic management and construction projects as well as major events.
