Emirates flagship A380 returns to Perth

Emirates flagship A380 returns to Perth

Emirates has reintroduced its A380 services to Western Australia, with daily flights to Perth.

On 1 November, the flagship aircraft made its return to the skies of Perth carrying 480 passengers on board.

Initially scheduled for a 1 December return, the A380 service is now available a month earlier, expanding on its previous capacity between its Dubai hub and Perth by close to 500 seats available on each flight.

The return of the A380 marks Perth as Emirates’ fourth point in Australia to be served by the double-decker aircraft since resuming operations during the pandemic.

“Due to the ongoing high demand for international travel in and out of Western Australia, we are thrilled to have Perth join the rest of our Australian points in being serviced by the A380 aircraft which comes right as we proudly celebrate 20 years of flying to the city,” Barry Brown, Emirates divisional vice president for Australasia said.

“We would like to thank our Western Australian passengers for their loyalty. We are excited that from November, they will be able to enjoy the spaciousness and amenities of our flagship A380 once again.”

EK420 will depart Dubai at 02:45 and arrive in Perth at 17:20 the same day, while EK421 will depart from Perth at 22:20 and arrive in Dubai at 05:25 the next day. The daily A380 service will replace the current Boeing 777-300ER operation between the two cities.

This year, Emirates proudly celebrated 20 years of serving the skies and communities of Perth, demonstrating its ongoing commitment to Australia and unparalleled global connectivity.

Since its inaugural flight to Perth in 2002, the airline has flown nearly 6 million passengers between Perth and Dubai, travelling more than 220 million kilometres on over 24,000 flights.

In Australia, Emirates also operates its flagship offering double daily flights to A380 to Sydney and Melbourne, and a once-daily service to Brisbane. On 1 August, Emirates also introduced its newly retrofitted A380 featuring its latest Premium Economy cabin to Sydney.
