Avalon Waterways is taking its ventures further in Asia, and is offering a 10% saving on its 2016 Asian river cruises to celebrate.

For those setting sail on the two new ships debuting this year, Avalon has released a dedicated brochure for its 2016 Asia Collection, featuring river cruises in Vietnam, Cambodia, Myanmar and China.

Avalon’s newest Asian ship, Avalon Siem Reap, was launched in January and now offers cruises on the mighty Mekong between Vietnam and Cambodia.  Catering to just 36 guests, the 60m ship is small enough to sail all the way into Ho Chi Minh City and seasonally into Siem Reap, saving hours of additional travel by road.

Avalon’s second new Asian ship, Avalon Myanmar, is the same size and will be introduced at the end of September, cruising from the temple-dotted plains of Bagan to the upper reaches of the Irrawaddy at Bhamo.

Both ships are based on Avalon’s Suite Ship concept pioneered on the rivers of Europe, but in a smaller format designed especially for Asian cruising.

Until June 30, 2015, earlybird savings of 10% are available on two 2016 itineraries featured in the new Avalon Asia Collection brochure:

  • Golden Myanmar & the Alluring Irrawaddy – 14 days beginning in Yangon and cruising between Bagan and Bhamo, exploring some of the most extraordinary temples and rural landscapes in Asia. From $7107 per person twin share (including 10% discount).

Each ship has 18 air-conditioned Avalon Suites with 23 square metres of living space, contemporary Asian style, Avalon’s signature open-air balcony with floor-to-ceiling panoramic windows that have retractable screen systems and doors that slide open to make the most of the passing scenery.
