Cruise360 Conference 2023 set to explore the mindset of the modern cruiser
Edited by Travel Weekly

Cruise360 Australasia is set to explore the mindset of the modern cruiser in September, enlisting Virgin Voyages president and chief experience officer, Nirmal Saverimutt to speak at the 2023 Cruise360 Conference.

Saverimuttu is the latest international speaker confirmed by Cruise Lines International Association (CLIA) for this year’s conference, to be held in Brisbane for the first time on September 7.

As Virgin Voyages prepares for its debut season in Australasia, Saverimuttu will discuss the increasing diversity of experiences offered in cruising and what this means for travel advisors. He will explain how establishing a connection with cruise guests can be more about identifying a mindset than targeting a traditional market segment.

CLIA Managing Director in Australasia Joel Katz said Cruise360 Australasia would offer a wealth of knowledge and inspiration for cruise specialist agents.

“Cruise360 will give agents the latest insight in a rapidly evolving cruise landscape, through a talented mix of international speakers and regional cruise line leaders,” Katz, said.

“With Australia and New Zealand set to welcome multiple new cruise brands this summer, Nirmal Saverimuttu will provide a well-timed fresh perspective that will help agents see new opportunities in local markets.”

Saverimuttu is part of the founding team at Virgin Voyages, having crafted the company’s initial business plan and served as part of the team responsible for sourcing the company’s start-up funding.

As president and chief experience officer, Saverimuttu is responsible for all guest-facing and commercial operations.

CLIA’s Cruise360 Australasia conference and trade show will be held on September 7 in Brisbane, with an industry-wide welcome event on the night of September 6.
