CLIA announces return and reveals date of 21st cruise industry awards
Edited by Travel Weekly

The countdown to the cruise industry’s biggest night of celebration has begun, with Cruise Lines International Association (CLIA) today opening nominations for its 21st Cruise Industry Awards.

“The CLIAs” will be announced on Saturday 9 March at a gala celebration at Sydney’s Star Event Centre in Pyrmont, allowing the Australasian cruise community to celebrate its best and brightest stars at a time of renewed prosperity in cruising.

CLIA Managing Director in Australasia Joel Katz said the awards would help recognise the critical role Australian and New Zealand travel agents had played in achieving record levels of cruise travel internationally.

“Cruising has made a spectacular comeback in Australasia, and our travel agent community has been integral to that success,” MD (Australasia), CLIA, Joel Katz, said.

“Our 21st Awards will honour those who have made an extraordinary contribution to cruising’s revival and who have helped make Australia and New Zealand one of the world’s most prosperous cruise regions.”

Eighteen award categories will be judged in this year’s awards, including 11 open to self-nomination or peer-nomination.

The awards are open to all current CLIA members in Australia and New Zealand, with nominations closing November 30, 2023.
