    The Australian travel industry arrived on mass last week at Pyrmont’s Doltone House to take part in the Council of Australian Tour Operators’ (CATO) second annual Trivia Masters event.

    Open to the entire industry, the event included a two-course dinner, drinks and entertainment including emcee/hosts Julia Zaetta and Jad Nehmetallah as well as dance battles for prizes between rounds.

    Travel knowledge was put to the test through three rounds of engaging travel-related trivia questions. Prizes were awarded throughout the night, including MasterCard CashPassport gift cards, with the highlight prize of the evening being a holiday to the Philippines, courtesy of Tourism Philippines & Philippine Airlines.

    “The team collaboration and friendly competitive spirit across all industry sectors was truly showcased during the event,” MD, CATO, Brett Jardine, said.

    “It was also wonderful to see so much effort and creativity that went into the various travel-inspired themed costumes displayed.

    Team Windstar Cruise, dressed as sailors were crowned this years Travel Trivia Masters winners.

    Intrepid Travel was the platinum sponsor of the event, gold and silver sponsors were Lockton Insurance and Tourism New Zealand respectively.

    Speaking at the event, partnerships manager, Intrepid Travel, Abbe Lunn gave an overview of the latest news from the small group travel experts which will celebrate 30 years in 2023.

    “We exist to inspire, create, share and lead the best travel experiences ever – for both people and planet,” Lunn, said.
