Captain Cook Cruises has appointed industry veteran Jarrod Zurvas as its new director of sales ahead of the arrival of its new luxury expedition ship, MS Caledonian Sky.

Zurvas joins the growing Captain Cook Cruises Fiji team from his role as sales and distribution manager Asia Pacific at Coral Expeditions and brings more than 15 years of experience working in senior sales and marketing roles across cruising, travel tourism and hospitality industries.

Included in his enviable lineup of industry experience are roles at Variety Cruises, Quark Expeditions, Scenic Luxury Cruises and Tours and Cunard Line.

Captain Cook Cruises Fiji executive chair Allison Haworth West said his appointment was both well-timed and a perfect fit for the luxury small ship expedition cruise brand.

“As we embark on a new era of high-end expedition cruising in Fiji and the broader South Pacific onboard MS Caledonian Sky, we are really offering our guests a new experience and a very personal discovery of the region that’s never before been available,” Haworth, said.

We’re very excited to be able to bring this high calibre experiential cruising product to our valued trade partners and look forward to more working together, with Jarrod leading the way.

“This is an experience of Fiji by Fiji: our crew and onboard marine and cultural guides are Fijian and will take our guests to meet remote communities on islands that rarely receive visitors – and it’s a very special and memorable experience for everyone.”

Jarrod Zurvas says he is looking forward to delivering a new experience of Fiji for guests in a more elevated, expedition style of cruising.

“I’m really looking forward to being a part of the evolution of the company and its offering to a genuine and rewarding discovery of Fiji’s pristine islands, thriving marine ecologies and an introduction to its friendly people who are renowned for their genuine hospitality, he said.

MS Caledonian Sky will start exploring Fiji from November 11, 2023.

Tailor-made for the adventurous traveller, the ship offers spacious boutique comfort whilst being small and maneuverable, taking guests to corners of the Pacific not accessible by larger ships.

Captain Cook Cruises Fiji will continue to deliver an intimate cruising experience with a capacity of just 114 passengers across 57 spacious ocean view suites. Guests can enjoy the luxury of private balconies, elegant suites, alfresco dining, an expansive sky deck and ten Zodiacs.

From April 1, 2024, the company will expand the ship’s itineraries even further into the most remote and beautiful parts of Fiji, Tonga and Samoa.
