Tourism Australia hits Facebook milestone

Tourism Australia managing director Andrew McEvoy has underlined the tourism body's commitment to digital marketing as its Facebook page passed two million worldwide fans.
The milestone makes it Australia's most popular Facebook page and the most popular tourism destination page in the world.
McEvoy attributed the page's success to its close engagement with its followers with TA listening and acting upon feedback.
"To be relevant, Tourism Australia has to provide compelling content and to deliver impact we have to use the channels where consumers are researching and booking their holidays – and today, that's online," he said.
