‚ÄúTeam” approach to lure airlines
By admin

Tourism Australia will lead a delegation of eight airports to China next month in a first collaborative approach to attracting more international flights.

The visit to Routes Asia 2012, where airlines and airports discuss potential route developments, will mark the first time such a coordinated effort has taken place.
Eight international airports in Australia – Adelaide, Brisbane, Cairns, Darwin, Gold Coast, Melbourne, Sydney and Perth – will be represented on the Australia stand under the Tourism Australia umbrella.
Tourism Australia managing director Andrew McEvoy said the “one voice” strategy was critical in tapping Asia’s full potential.
“In continuing to seek to make our case for new services and additional capacity to grow visitation to Australia we are expanding our approach by working more closely with our key Australian gateway partners at our international air gateways,” he said.
Routes Asia takes place in Chengdu, China, between April 15 and 17.
