Regulator considers Boeing plan for 787 fix
By admin

The US aviation regulator is reviewing Boeing's plans to remedy the 787 battery issues that have seen the aircraft grounded around the world.

In a statement, the Federal Aviation Administration said it is reviewing the aircraft manufacturer's proposal and confirmed it will "analyse it closely".

"The safety of the flying public is our top priority and we won't allow the 787 to return to commercial service until we're confident that any proposed solution has addressed the battery failure risks," it said.

Meanwhile, GDS changes have revealed that a number of airlines have extended their Dreamliner service cancellations as they await a resolution. Both Qatar Airways and Air India have extended their 787 replacement schedules to late March while United has scheduled replacement services to early June.
