By admin

Qantas will update 16 of its Boeing 767 aircraft with new interiors and individual in-flight entertainment, as part of a wider investment in its domestic operations.

The first refreshed aircraft will enter service in October featuring a “contemporary design” which includes leather seat covers in business class and a new look economy cabin.

In addition to new cabin interiors, the revamp will also see the airline partner with Panasonic to provide more than 200 hours of on-demand in-flight entertainment streamed direct to iPads in each seat.

“Our customers were the first in the world to experience the ground-breaking wifi entertainment technology and we received great feedback from our customers during the trial this year,” Qantas Domestic chief executive Lyell Strambi said.

“We’re now looking at ways to evolve this technology platform even further with our partner Panasonic to bring new standards of in-flight entertainment to our customers.”

The airline revealed further investments would include the delivery of a new A330 and two B737-800s later this year with enhancements to ground operations and upgrades to other domestic aircraft to take place over the next few years.
