Pullman brings star quality to Sydney Airport

Accor has signed an agreement to manage a five star hotel to be part of a new $100 million mixed-use commercial and retail precinct to be developed in Mascot, near Sydney Airport.

Under the agreement with Goodman, Accor will manage a 5-star hotel to be badged Pullman Sydney Airport, the group's fourth airport hotel announced this year.

Accor pacific chief operating officer, Simon McGrath, said the project will be a key development for Sydney.

“The Sydney hotel market has been considerably constrained over the last two years with occupancies idling between 80-90%, hence the urgency for new inventory to service the high corporate and leisure demand in the city," McGrath said.

The new 229 room hotel will also be the first internationally branded 5-star hotel serving the international airport precinct.

“Airports are no longer considered transport hubs, they are transforming into complete entities where hotels, conference centres, retail and office spaces co-exist," McGrath said.

Construction of the hotel development on O’Riordan Street, Mascot has commenced and Pullman Sydney Airport is slated to open in May 2016.
