New routes for Tiger from Sydney base
By admin

Tiger Airways has promised further network developments as it confirmed Sydney as its second Australian base.

The carrier will base three Airbus A320 aircraft at Sydney Airport from July 1, adding 3,600 extra seats per day over 10 additional daily return services, including new Sydney-Brisbane and Sydney-Gold Coast services. Both routes will operate four times daily.
Sydney to Melbourne frequencies will rise from nine to 11 daily.
The Civil Aviation Safety Authority yesterday granted approval for the airline to increase its maximum number of sectors from 38 per day to 64.
“We are continuing with our future Australian expansion as planned,” chief executive Andrew David said. “This is a win-win for both consumers wanting more low fares as well as for domestic tourism."
Sydney Airport chief executive Kerrie Mather said that the additional seats “meant more competition and more choice on key corridors” and welcomed the creation of 150 jobs.
