New Carnival sales structure kicks off

New Carnival sales structure kicks off
By admin

Complete Cruise Solution, the sales operation of Carnival Australia, will cease to exist from today as brand-specific teams take responsibility for cruise line sales.

The new structure, announced last month, sees separate sales and marketing teams for P&O Cruises and Princess Cruises.

It follows a similar move by Carnival Cruise Lines which split from CCS last year.

Carnival Australia said the brand-specific model will allow it to focus on brand differentiation and
"streamline relationships with travel agents in an increasingly competitive market.

Business development managers have been recruited for both P&O and Princess with other roles, including head of sales for each brand, still to be confirmed.

Princess Cruises commercial director Alan Stuart said: "It's no secret that Princess Cruises has some ambitious goals to drive growth in the Australia market and I'm confident our new line up of business development managers means we have the right team in place to work with our agents to achieve this."

He said Princess will not only have its own sales team but a dedicated call centre – employing 70 staff – yield management and marketing teams.

The new BDM's for Princess are Cherie Bowman and Rachael Tyrell (both NSW), Peter Darby and Helen Mezzen (both Queensland), Sally-Anne Matthews (Victoria) and Emma Pequin (WA, NT and South Australia).

For P&O, the BDM's are Jessica Plunkett, NSW, and ACT), Angus Mackay (NSW), Dylan Hearne and Andrew Thwaites (both Queensland) and Kylie Clancy (Victoria).

Under the new structure, sales staff will be expected to increase the number of visits to travel agents.

Carnival said there are no brand-specific roles in New Zealand "given the nature of the market and size of the local team".
