Emirates set for Vietnam expansion

By admin

Emirates will continue its South East Asian expansion with the start of daily non-stop services to Ho Chi Minh City in Vietnam from June 4, set to become its 124th destination.
Emirates president Tim Clark predicted that the route would prove popular with tourists and business travellers alike, particularly from the Middle East, Africa and Europe.
"Following the signing of the Air Services Memorandum of Understanding between Vietnam and the United Arab Emirates in April 2011, we have been busy planning this route," he said.
"It comes at a very exciting time for the airline, as our global network continues to expand."
The route will be operated by an Airbus A330-200 in a two class configuration until October 28, when it will be replaced by a Boeing 777-300 ER, also in a two class configuration.
The new service will become the airline's eighth route to be launched in 2012, following the start of services to Dublin on January 9, Lusaka and Harare on February 1, Dallas on February 2 and Seattle on March 1.
On Tuesday, the airline commenced services linking Dubai with Buenos Aires and Rio de Janeiro, increasing its South American presence and taking its global network to 118 destinations.
The new daily Dubai-Rio de Janeiro-Buenos Aires service is being operated by a Boeing 777-300ER aircraft.
