Earlybird booking trends uncovered

Earlybird booking trends uncovered
By admin

Trafalgar, Insight Vacations and Contiki have reported success for their revamped early payment discount offers, as they revealed a growing trend towards longer tours.

The tiered earlybird structure launched in September with discounts of 10% on any departure date in the 2013 Europe & Britain programs of all three brands. The offer, now down to discounts of 7.5%, finishes on February 28.

"Trafalgar has received an extremely positive response from trade to the new early payment discount structure with agents not only commenting on how easy it is to use, but also its greater appeal in securing the best possible price for their clients ahead of time," Trafalgar managing director, Matt Cameron-Smith, said.

He reported a 30% increase in bookings of guided holidays, with Britain a particularly hot destination on the back of the Jubilee and the London Olympic Games.

"We're also seeing unprecedented demand for our longer itineraries, especially among repeat clients," he added.

Insight's British itineraries are also performing well under the offer, according to managing director, Joost Timmer, who indicated "exceptional demand" for packages featuring the Edinburgh Tattoo.

Meanwhile, Contiki's Turkish sailing tour, introduced this year, has emerged as a popular choice.

"Also selling well are trips through Eastern Europe with our longer tours seeing dramatic growth, proving that Europe is not only as popular as ever for 18-35s but travellers still want to take advantage of their time away and experience as much as possible," managing director Fiona Hunt said.
