Budget takes radio campaign to TV

Car rental firm Budget has taken its long running radio advertising campaign to the small screen, marking the brand's first appearance on TV in more than a decade.

The four 15-second commercials feature its Barry Bowen character who has fronted Budget's radio crusade since 2005.

The ads, to be screened at the end of January, were created by advertising agency, Shift.

"The challenge that we were given by Budget was to take the successful radio campaign and give it greater life and impact through television," managing director Iain Good said. "We believe the Barry TV commercials will further drive the brand's connection with the Australian audience whilst promoting some compelling retail offers."

The campaign will be supported with online, email, social and print material.
