New Caledonian airline Aircalin has amended its fare structure from Sydney and Brisbane with the introduction of one-way fares to Noumea.

The new fares are priced at 50% of the regular round trip cost. In addition, fares from Brisbane will be reduced by 12% for the lead in booking class.

Aircalin currently operates daily flights from Sydney and three per week from Brisbane.

Australian general manager Ken Triffit said the new one-way fares came in response to demand from both agents and client.

“It now adds more flexibility in creating itineraries for clients and still maintains a very competitive price,” he said.

In addition, the carrier will up its baggage allowances from July 1.

Economy class passengers will be allowed one 23kg piece of luggage, while Hibiscus passengers will be allowed two pieces at 23kg each.
