New Zealand fully reopening means die-hard Lord of the Rings fans around the world can finally regroup to recite their fav lines from the films to one another on location.

Discussing tourism is high on the agenda for Ardern, but clearly giving a strong firm handshake that matches the might of Albanese’s is what she really came to Australia for.

That’s one less hoop to jump through for Aussies rushing to cross the Tasman before our Kiwi cousins open up to the rest of the world.

Just like Australia had to begrudgingly welcome back Irish backpackers, New Zealand has had to let some Aussies in to boost its tourism industry.
